Bent sheet metal parts in the workshop

Sheet metal bending up to 4 metres

We bend up to 4 metres long and to the angles the drawing requires. That 4-metre limit is what lets us make a part in one go instead of splitting it in two and welding it: less weld bead, less distortion and a cleaner part.

01

Up to 4 metres long

That is the working length of our press brake. In practice it means most tank bodies, casings, channels, ducts and trays come out in one piece.

02

At various angles

Not just 90º bends. We work to the angles the flat pattern of the part requires, which is what makes hoppers, funnels, variable-section ducts and trims possible.

If we receive the drawing of the finished part, we develop the flat pattern ourselves. If the flat pattern is already done, we check it before bending: that is the time to catch a drawing error, not afterwards.

Materials

Stainless steel, mild steel, galvanised steel and aluminium. These are the four materials we work with in all our processes.

70% of what leaves our workshop is stainless steel, so that is where we have the most experience. But your project need not be limited to it: many parts combine stainless with mild or galvanised steel, depending on the function of each section.

In bending, the material rules. Stainless steel springs back part of the angle when released and this has to be compensated; aluminium does not accept the same inside radius as mild steel without risking cracks. Decades of parts tell us how much to compensate in each case.

What we commonly bend

  • Tank bodies and heads
  • Discharge hoppers and funnels
  • Heating and cooling ducts
  • Trays, channels and machine guards
  • Equipment casings and enclosures

Does your part fit within 4 metres?

Send us the drawing and we will confirm. If it doesn't fit, we will suggest how to solve it.
